The Wildcat

Mission Statement

The Wildcat has been the official newspaper of Brea Olinda High School since the campus was founded in 1930. 2020 marks the 90th year of publishing a newspaper created by, and for, the Wildcat student body. Since its debut in 1930, the Wildcat staff has produced content to educate, to inform, to entertain, and to provide diverse points of view for the BOHS community of students, teachers, staff, and alumni.

Throughout the Wildcat’s long history, BOHS and BOUSD administrators have supported the First Amendment rights of its student journalists. The Wildcat does not involve administrators in prior review. Positions taken in the Wildcat Editorial represent the majority opinion of the Wildcat staff. Bylined reviews, columns, and other opinion items represent the point of view of the author.

The newspaper, both print and online, is free, and is funded by the Brea Olinda Unified School District and advertisements from local businesses.
