Joseph R. Biden, Jr. was elected 46th president of the United States of America on Nov. 7. The president-elect said in his victory speech, "I pledge to be a president who seeks not to divide, but unify, who doesn’t see red states and blue states, but only sees the United States.” He emphasized his goal to unify and to “rebuild the soul of America.”
